$30million was raised through ticket sales alone,

-- Billy Joel talked to the crowd about the resiliency of New Yorkers and then performed his signature "New York State of Mind".
-- Chris Martin sang Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" before being joined by Michael Stipe of R.E.M. for "Losing My Religion".

-- Eric Clapton switched from acoustic to electric guitar and sang "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" and "Crossroads".

-- Roger Waters played a set of Pink Floyd tunes-- joined by Eddie Vedder for "Comfortably Numb".
-- The final notes of Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind" (performed with Paul McCartney) brought the star-filled show to an end at 1:19 a.m. Thursday, nearly six hours after Bruce Springsteen opened the show.
Lindsay Lohan’s probation was officially revoked yesterday (Wednesday).
The actress was arraigned yesterday morning on charges that she lied to cops and drove recklessly when she crashed her Porsche last June in Santa Monica.

The judge scheduled a hearing for January 15, 2013.
If the judge decides Lohan did indeed violate her probation, the actress faces up to 245 days in jail.
Lindsay Lohan is no longer following The Wanted's Max George on Twitter, after he called her a "groupie" in a recent interview.
He made the comment when a reporter asked if they were dating, and a bandmate jokingly added, "She is probably hiding in our suitcase right now!"
By the way, Lindsay was labeled as the band’s groupie by the media ever since she hopped on their tour bus.

Beginning at midnight (today), new Federal Communications Commission rules bar television networks from blasting viewers with those excessively loud, screamy commercial breaks.
The rules were adopted a year ago, and they will require commercials to have the same average volume as the programs that feature them.
The FCC was prompted to action last year when Congress passed the "Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act"—aka the CALM Act.
If you still find a commercial to be much louder than it should be, you can report it by calling 1-888-TELL-FCC:

A convicted killer in a New Mexico prison was planning to have Justin Bieber murdered -- and castrated!
Convicted murderer Dana Martin is serving two life sentences for raping and killing a 15-year-old girl in 2000. He recruited a fellow inmate at prison named Mark Staake to kill Beiber once he was released.
Apparently, Martin is obsessed with Bieber and even has a tattoo of him on his leg.
The other guy (and his nephew) planned to kill Bieber in New York City last month when Bieber was performing at Madison Square Garden. The plan was to kidnap Bieber and his bodyguard and strangle them. The nephew was then going to castrate them.
But for some reason the inmate blew the whistle and police arrested his hitman.
The nephew made it to New York, but police arrested him before he could get anywhere near Bieber.
One Direction's Harry Styles has apparently told Taylor Swift that he has “never felt like this” about a girl before.
The 18-year-old singer is dating the 22-year-old country singer.
He has dated much older women in the past, but it seems his relationship with Taylor could be more serious.
One source said, “Harry has told her this is a big deal for him and that he has never felt like this about a girl before. He’s had loads of flings with other girls, but nobody has got to him like Taylor has.”
Britney Spears made $58 million over the past year, more than any other woman in the music industry. Her "Femme Fatale" album was certified platinum in the U.S. and her tour made up for most of the cash. Endorsements and a fragrance line added millions more.

She also got big money from endorsements with CoverGirl and Sony and there's more cash on the way. Her latest album, "Red", sold 1.2 million units its opening week, the best debut by any artist since 2002.
Rihanna was third with $53 million. Along with touring money and her hits, she cashed in on endorsements with Vita Coco and Nivea, as well as her fragrance Reb'l Fleur.
No. 4 was Lady Gaga with $52 million and Katy Perry rounded out the top five with $45 million.
Other ladies on the list included Madonna with $30 million, Beyoncé with $40 million (she'll earn even more next year when her $50 million deal with Pepsi kicks in), and Nicki Minaj, who barely missed the top ten.
