Jon Bon Jovi's daughter, Stephanie Rose Bongiovi, is off the hook after overdosing.
She no longer faces drug charges because of New York's law applying to overdose cases in which there was a call for help.
Bongiovi and a male pal were arrested this week on drug possession charges after officers found heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her dorm room.
Yesterday, the misdemeanor charges against both were dropped because of a 2011 amendment to the New York penal code exempting people from possession charges if they had sought help for somebody experiencing a "drug or alcohol overdose or other life-threatening medical emergency."
The so-called "Good Samaritan" section of the law applies to the Bongiovi case because her friend had called for help for the rocker's daughter as she suffered a possible overdose.

Kim Kardashian attended the HQ Battery 10th Marine Birthday Ball last night (Thursday) in North Carolina.
The reality star was invited by Sgt. Martin Gardner, who was on the event planning committee.
Kardashian is currently filming “Kourtney & Kim Take Miami” and rearranged her schedule so she could fly from Miami to North Carolina and attend.
Former “Facts of Life” star Lisa Whelchel has the West Nile virus.
The actress is currently on “Survivor: Philippines” tweeted that a doctor just called with blood test results and she has the virus.
The virus is spread through mosquitos but Whelchel didn’t say whether she got it while filming the CBS reality competition.
She will continue to compete on the show and expects to fully recover.
Comedian Katt Williams was arrested in Oakland on Wednesday night after getting in a fight at a club.
Sources say Williams hit someone over the head with a bottle at a hotel near the club after the fight.
He was released yesterday (Thursday) from police custody and the incident is under investigation.
The deaths of a beloved dog, and his marriage, was almost too much for Cesar Millan to handle.
In Feb. 2010, TV's "Dog Whisperer" "Daddy" died, the 16-year-old pit bull who had been Millan's best example of a "calm, submissive" dog.
Then, in June of that year, Millan learned that his wife of 16 years, Ilusion Millan, had filed for divorce.
He admitted, "I was at the lowest level I had ever been emotionally and psychologically."
So low, in fact, that he attempted suicide.
Cesar says, "Daddy was my Tibet, my Himalaya, my Gouda, my Buddha, my source of calmness".
After surviving the overdose, he burined himself in work and exercise, and too many antidepressants. His recovery progressed when he met Jahira Dar, a woman Millan calls "the one."
He plans to propose soon.

Rihanna revealed that she considers Mariah Carey her biggest musical inspiration.
Rihanna looked up to Mariah when she was growing up and felt "connected" to her story as a bi-racial performer.
She said: "I remember looking up to people like Mariah Carey. I identified with her in so many ways. She was bi-racial, she was also young and I remember just hearing her story and really being connected to it. Now, I moved to America and I started listening to pop music and rock music and all these other bands and artists that I never knew about from the '80s, the '70s."

Cyndi Lauper has landed her own reality TV show. The 12-part series, "Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual," is set to premiere on the WE cable network in January.
The program will follow Lauper as she juggles life as an entertainer, mother to her 14-year-old son and wife to her husband of 20 years.
