• After Jessica's version of Mariah Carey's "My All," Steven told her: "You'll be the last one standing here, I believe."
• Phillip sang "Beggin'" by Madcon, which was Steven's choice. The Aerosmith frontman told Phillip: "I'm really hoping you write your own songs because you could be the new age Boss," referring to Bruce Springsteen.
Round Two: Contestants' Choice
• Joshua sang "Imagine" by John Lennon. Jennifer Lopez told him, "It's almost like you're preaching when you sing. The way you're willing to dig deep ... it was makes you very special [and] that takes courage."
• Jessica sang Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." Steven was impressed, telling her: "You just took a great song and made it greater".
• Phillip sang "Disease" by Matchbox Twenty but it wasn't as well received. J.Lo told him, "I didn't feel like it was the wow performance." The crowd booed but Randy Jackson agreed, telling Phillip. "It was just such a subdued moment from you".
Round Three: Jimmy's Choice
• Jimmy picked Mary J. Blige's "No More Drama" for Joshua. Randy told him, "You have laid everything on this stage that there is to lay. That's what being a great artists is about." Jennifer added: "You have this perfect marriage of knowing exactly what you're doing and letting completing go at the same time."
• Jessica was given "I'll Be There" by Jackson Five, which was "the perfect song [for] the perfect voice," according to Steven. But Randy said, "I didn't love it. ... There was never a moment moment."
• And to close out the show, Phillip hit it out of the park with "We've Got Tonight" by Bob Seger, which earned him a standing ovation from the judges. Steven said, "You just showed you've got all that passion wrapped up inside you," while Randy called it "the perfect song, at the perfect time and your best performance on this show ever."

Jennifer Lopez had some "judge" advice for Britney Spears and Demi Lovato now that they are officially "X Factor" judges..
She said: "When I first started, I was like, 'Live TV! Eek.' It's a big thing to take on, but I think they're both more than capable to handle it. I think they'll have a good time. It's fun working with the singers and doing your thing and knowing what you're talking about from experience and they both have that."
"You don't have to be tough. There's not one way to do that, reality TV, and those competition shows are about being yourself, it's about being your best self and I think that's the most important thing."
Britney and Demi's first "X Factor" episodes air this Fall on FOX.
Britney Spears said she's ready to be a judge on the "X Factor" for the second season of the show.
She said: "Just really being able to be there and inspire the other contestants. They're so young and they're trying to fulfill their dreams. It's just a whole beautiful concept. It's just really cool."
Rihanna was spotted with New York Knicks' J.R. Smith at a New York nightclub last week.

John Legend is starring in ABC's new reality singing competition "Duets"-- and he decided to go after his competition— the new "X Factor" judges, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.
Legend said: "You know it's interesting. It should be very interesting. I don't have much to say. It's interesting when people you know who are judging singing competitions when they aren't really singers. It's interesting."
No comment from Demi or Britney.
A Canadian company is selling cloned sample copies of Justin Bieber's DNA in necklace pendants.
According to RadarOnline.com, Celebrity Gene extracted the DNA from a piece of Justin's hair. They'll start selling the pendants at the end of the month on their website.
The cloned copies will sell for about $120 Canadian. The original strand will sell for big bucks sometime in the future.
A statement from the company said: "We wanted to make this item so that all tweens can afford one and always carry around Justin. We obtained his hair DNA due to popular demand and because we like that he is Canadian and how he went from YouTube to an international superstar!"
Each DNA pendant will come with a silver box chain and a certificate of authenticity.
On drinking alcohol: "For me, it's just like, I like to be in control of myself. I mean, I've had a beer, like, before. But I never get out of control."
On having trust issues: "I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can't trust anyone in this business. That's what's sad. You can't trust anybody. I learned the hard way."
On defending Kim Kardashian: "You guys are so mean, bro. People say she doesn't do anything; she actually does do stuff, she works hard."
Jay on being branded a boy band: "I think we were initially branded as a boy band because that is indeed what we technically are. And I think the view changed slightly because people realized as much as a lot of young girls like our songs, we’re not just tailoring it to those people. We want to make songs that I think if it wasn’t 5 guys singing it, if it was one guy singing it, then everyone would buy it. And so somehow we always have that stigma, but we don’t care about those people — we care about the people that buy our albums and songs and we are very happy with the songs we do I think."
Siva on the wildest thing a fan has done to get close to them: "We moved out to different apartments and we had a moving vans going all over London. And in my moving van there was an unknown box and in that box was a fan and the fan was in there for about 3 hours. And so I got out and saw this random box and I opened it up and the box is lined with plastic and there was a red faced girl sweating! She stank. But anyway."
Max on collaborating with One Direction: "It would be hard to do a collab with them because it’s sort of mixing two genre’s, you’re in the same genre, but the music’s so different. I don’t know where we’d draw the line as to say, you know where we’re allowed to make sexual innuendos where I’m guessing they wouldn’t. But we like to do that sort of thing, so we’d have to make a compromise which would fit, which would fit both sets of bands I think."
Siva on their most surprising celebrity encounter: "J.Lo is the most surprising celebrity encounter ever. She is a goddess. She’s lovely."
Pink admitted she has cut back on her drinking and smoking habits.
Pink said she used to drink alcohol and smoke while she made a new album, but she has had to stop because she's a mother now.
She explained: "I'm used to going into the studio and smoking and drinking until three in the morning. But I can't drink as much because I'm breastfeeding. See this glass of wine? Before, I'd have, like, four of them. Now, one is good. Oh, and I quit smoking. I've exorcised a lot of my demons, but I'm still working on myself. I think I'll be a work in progress for the rest of my life."
OneRepublic drummer Edward Fisher was arrested the other night after he smashed through the front door of his girlfriend's home and pushed her through the cabinets.
At least that's what his girlfriend says.
Loni Rae said: "Things just got out of hand and he snapped and my entire cabinets are ripped off from my walls. I had my feet up against the wall trying not to let him in, and he busted through the door and he pushed me through the cabinets."
Loni said she doesn't want to see Edward anymore.
She said: "We tried to make it work and we have to let God handle it now."
HE PLEADS NOT GUILTY:
Eddie Fisher pleaded not guilty yesterday to assault, destruction of private property, wrongs to a minor and two counts of disturbing the peace.
The drummer was freed on $550 bond.
