I found a lip gloss in my daughter's backpack, and after many hours of interrogation she has now admitted she stole from a store. I was very shocked. She knows how I feel about her wearing any kind of makeup. She's only 11. She is a great girl. She is kind to everybody, she always helps me out around the house. I was so shocked she would do this. Her dad thinks we need to make her take it back to the store herself, tell the manager what she did and pay for it. She already seems so remorseful I don't think public shaming would serve any purpose. I would rather take it back myself and ground her. Do you have any ideas how to make an impression on her without scarring her for life?
