A 50-year-old engineer has designed what he calls the “tsunami survival” capsule - a small circular contraption that should be able to withstand harsh weather conditions. He plans to get in the capsule and ride it over Niagra Falls to prove the safety and success of his invention. He claims it should be able to hold up in hurricanes, tsunamis, tornadoes, tidal waves and super storms.
The aluminum sphere is supposed to protect him not only from water but from collisions against hard surfaces. As a former engineer for Boeing, he has some backers for his invention and if his test goes well, the “tsunami survival” capsule could go into production to help those in danger survive natural disasters.
