Subway customers everywhere are pulling out the tape measures after an Australian guy ordered a foot long sub but it came up short…only 11 inches.
He took a picture and posted it on Subway's Facebook page with the caption “subway pls respond” and it’s taken off from there. It motivated other people to whip out their tape measures and see if Subway measured up. It turns out…it doesn’t very often.
Even the New York Post got in on it by doing their own investigation. Four out of seven “Five Dollar Footlongs” at New York area Subway’s measured only 11 or 11.5 inches. Subway claims it’s because the bread is baked fresh daily in each of their 38,000 restaurants. They claim they are however looking into it.
