Verizon wants to put a DVR in your home that not only records your favorite shows but listens in to what is happening inside your home. The company recently filed a patent for the device, which they believe could be used to target ads according to what is happening in your home.
Having an argument? An ad would pop up for marriage counseling.
Cuddling on the couch? You might get an ad for a contraceptive.
Though the technology would be years away, the appearance of the patents show what is on the horizon for some of our biggest tech companies.
