America will soon get a chance to buy what is considered the world’s most inexpensive car: the Tata Nano . First, the Nano will have to meet federal laws, which would include adding airbags and electronic stability control. And the engine would get a boost from the 37 horsepower that it makes in India.
The question is how much it will cost. In India, it cost around $3,500, but the cost could go up to around $10,000 in the States after all of the safety additions.
